Candidates who meet the below eligibility requirements may register for the ceremony (and order caps, gowns, tickets, parking passes, etc.) by completing the Commencement Registration/Order Form, May 4 through May 24.
Bachelor Candidates
Students who earned a degree in Summer 2008, Autumn 2008, or Winter 2009, or have applied to graduate with a departmental advisor for Spring 2009 or Summer 2009 are eligible. Once the application for graduation has been completed and received by the Office of Graduation and Academic Records (206-543-1803), the student will then be eligible to complete the Commencement Registration/Order Form.
Master’s and Doctoral Candidates
Graduates who earned their degrees in Summer 2008, Autumn 2008, or Winter 2009, or candidates who have a reasonable expectation of graduating in Spring 2009 or Summer 2009 are eligible to participate.
Professional
Candidates for J.D., M.D., D.D.S., and Pharm D. Degrees who earned degrees in Summer 2008, Autumn 2008, Winter 2009 or are candidates for Spring or Summer 2009 are eligible to participate. These students are honored in separate ceremonies, as well as, during the main ceremony.

The Commencement program lists the names of graduates from Summer 2008 through Spring 2009. Note: Spring 2009 Bachelor's Degree candidates must have their Application to Graduate submitted and received by the Office of Graduation and Academic Records by the April 17th deadline in order to have their names listed. Master's and doctoral degree candidates must have their Master's or Doctoral Requests submitted by May 1 in order to have their names listed. Summer 2009 graduates' names will be listed in the following year's program.
Special honor cords are awarded to undergraduate students have earned baccalaureate honors (Cum Laude, Magna Cum Laude, Summa Cum Laude), College Honors, or Departmental Honors. Click on the above links for an explanation of these honors. Those eligible may purchase the cords for $10.00 on the web registration/order form. If you qualify for College or Departmental Honors, be sure you or your advisor submit your Departmental Honors Invitation to the Honors Program (MGH 211 or Box 352800) by April 17, 2009.

Diplomas
Diplomas are mailed by the Office of the Registrar to the address selected by the student on MYUW. This will occur approximately 3 to 4 months after the date of graduation..
